Fashion in the French Riviera: Cannes Style
Contributor of The LA Fashion magazine, Elizabeth Fraley, hit the red carpets at the 66th annual Cannes Film Festival at the world red carpet premiere of The Immigrant wearing a red, sheer mermaid gown with a three-foot train made of silk taffeta by LA designer Eva Chen.
Chen has built an international presence in New York, Tokyo, Montreal in addition to Vancouver Fashion week among other runway shows such as LA Fashion Week. Many in the fashion industry that appreciate a feminine flair to fashion adore the work of Chen. Living in Singapore, Vancouver, New York, and Europe, Chen has developed an eclectic, yet cosmopolitan take on fashion, which is evident in her couture lines of dresses and suits.
Chen says, “My take on fashion keeps emerging. Traveling and my everyday experiences shape who I am as a designer, which inspires me to push one step further with my designs. I am honored that my work was able to be showcased at the world red carpet priemere of the Immigrant at the Cannes Film Festival this year.”
At the same premiere, lead actress of The Immigrant, Marion Cotillard opted for a white, tailored French, Christian Dior number to grace the red carpets of the Palasis des Festivals. Cotillard’s makeup artist went for a fresh, natural look for Cotillard with a taupe to brown palette of eye color and soft pink blush to add just a pop of color. The actresses’ hair exuded class as it was rolled under at the ends with the use of styling products and hairpins. Be sure and follow LA Fashion Magazine next year at the Cannes Film Festival for the latest in European-inspired fashion, hair, and make up trends fresh out of the French Rivera.
